Engine oil and filter change on Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 DI-D 2013-2020
This guide walk you trough a oil and oil filter change for the Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 DI-D. The engine needs around 5.3-5.5 liter engine oil. Use a motor oil with 5W-30W C3 spec. The oil filter has OEM partnum MD360935. Estimated time 30-40 min.

Rais the car in the front using a ramp or axle stands. It is very important to secure the car before you enter under the engine.

The cover under the engine must be removed to enter the oil drain plug and the oil filter. The cover is attached with 2 bolts in the front and 2 in the back. On each side there are 2 plastic clips holding the plate on place.

Release the bolts using a 10 mm socket. Start in front.

Relase the center of the plastic plug using a flat screw driver.

Release the drain plug using a 17 mm socket. Make a container ready to catch the oil.

Drain out all the oil from the oil pan before removing the oil filter.

Prepare a oil filter tool to release the oil filter. Filter diameter is approx 65 mm.

Release the oil filter by turning it counter clockwise.

Prepare the new oil filter. Add some oil around the gasket to get a proper seal.

The new oil filter is mounted. Do not overtight it.

Install a new oil drain plug with gasket. Use a 17 mm socket.

Fill 5 liters of motor oil at once. Use a funnel to prevent any spilling. Then close the oil cap and start the engine. Let the engine run a minute. The oil filter will be filled with oil. Then add around 0.3-0.4 l with extra oil.

Use the oil dipstick to check the oil level. Dry it with some paper first. Do not overfill.

Close the oil cap and you are ready to go.
